Phone located in USA shows GPS Location moving thru SPAIN? Has my Phone been Hacked?

My HTC ERIS phone shows a location of Gazost Spain, however I am here in NY state USA. The GPS navigator shows me in Spain, the Widget Clock App shows a local clock for Gazost Spain, and the weather shows up as The same. Has my phones MAC Adr. been cloned onto a phone in Spain? Or is this a Virus / Malware? I have tried AVG's antivirus and it came up with nothing. I will be crossing picket lines today to go to my local Verizon Wireless store to make sure Calls are not being charged out of Spain. But really What is going on here. Please help.

Where in NY are you ? I'm in Buffalo and the same thing is happening to me on my HTC Incredible. My GPS won't lock onto my current position for the past 2 days...

Hi everyone --

It seems that many of users in NY are seeing similar issues. Location can be determined by factors besides the GPS, including cell network or wireless connection. Let's try the following --
1. If your WiFi is turned ON, turn it OFF.
2. Reboot your phone

Is the correct time, weather location, and Navigator location showing your correct position?

If your location is still incorrect, this is probably an error caused by the GPS or carrier network.

Let me know!

WiFi is off and I rebooted my phone.

Time is correct. Weather location initially shows Gazost but after a few minutes switched to Buffalo, NY. Google Maps is only able to pinpoint my location to about a 1 mile radius but eventually the radius gets larger and smaller. All 3 GPS options are ticked under location.

This all started occurring for me yesterday.

I am in Utica and my HTC Thunderbolt has the same issue. Four family members who also have Verizon are experiencing the same problem. Navigation cannot be used because initial location cannot be pinpointed. It bounces between Utica, NY and Gazost. Gazost shows up as France for me, not Spain. this is also interfering with other geo-social networking apps. Specials and events taking place in France do not interest me when I am in the central NY area. This is the second day I've been dealing with this issue, going into the third. I'll be expecting a discount on the next bill, as I will not be paying for services that do not work. If not I will be switching carriers.

same here on my incredible and my gf's thunderbolt. called verizon earlier and they claim they have no  problem so it must be my phone.  useful aren't they?

Been happening to me on my Thunderbolt since yesterday. Just turned off Verizon's location service, waited a few minutes, and BOOM! I'm home again (near Rochester, NY).

Okay, now I'm bouncing back-and-forth between Rochester and Gazost. Good thing I'm not traveling anytime soon. Well, except to Gazost. I've heard it's lovely this time of year.

Google Location Services alone has me jetsetting. VZW Location Services alone has me firmly in Gazost. Running through recent app installs to see if one of them might be causing this.

That's odd. I'm a T-Mobile subscriber from Philadelphia and often go to Rochester, NY to visit my dad. Whenever I'm in Rochester, weird things happen to my phone and I often loses my 4G connection. I, too, get those weird locations...mostly in China or Uzhbekistan or something like that, but it seems to happen whenever I'm in Upstate NY.
