About attributes

Attributes help explain what amenities businesses offer, like whether a restaurant has Wi-Fi or outdoor seating, or other aspects of the business.

The attributes appear on Business Profiles on Google Search and Maps.

Tip: Some attributes are only available in certain countries or regions.

How it works

There are two types of attributes:

  • Objective attributes: Like outdoor seating, women-led or Black-owned
  • Subjective attributes: Like whether this business is popular with locals

We rely on business owners and customers to suggest most attributes. However, customers cannot suggest certain identity-based attributes, like "Black-owned". Learn how to suggest attributes for non-identity-based labels.

If you’re a business owner and want to self-identify with attributes, sign up for Google My Business and learn how to add or edit attributes.
