Discover new places based on your interests with Google Maps. We use your saved preferences, Location History and Web & App Activity to suggest locations and content that you might like. We also use this information to create a 'Your match' score. Learn more about how to get matches.
To turn these features on or off, learn how to manage your Location History or change your Web & App Activity setting.
Manage your 'Interested' preferences
- On your mobile device, open the Google Maps app .
- At the top right, tap your profile photo or initial .
- Tap Settings Manage your preferences.
- To review and update what you’re interested in, tap Interested.
- To add an 'Interested' preference: Tap Add topic and tap what you're interested in.
- To remove an 'Interested' preference: Next to what you want to remove, tap Remove .
Manage your 'Not interested' preferences
- On your mobile device, open the Google Maps app .
- At the top right, tap your profile photo or initial .
- Tap Settings Manage your preferences.
- To review and update what you’re interested in, tap Not interested.
- To add a 'Not interested' preference: Tap Add topic and tap what you're not interested in.
- To remove a 'Not interested' preference: Next to what you want to remove, tap Remove .
About preferences
The 'Manage your preference' page contains:
- Dietary: Set your preferred categories, like vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, alcohol-free, halal and kosher.
- Interested: Add what you’re interested in, such as topics or places.
- Not interested: Add what you’re not interested in, such as topics or places.
You’ll find the following when you tap a preference:
- Topics and places you added yourself.
- Topics and places suggested by Google based on your saved preferences, Location History and Web and App Activity. You’ll find 'Suggestion from Maps' in the category’s description.
