Add and explore dishes in Google Maps

Become a local guide

You can explore menu options and add new dishes to a restaurant’s business profile. You can also earn Local Guides’ photo tags points when you add dishes. Learn more about Local Guides points, levels and badging.

Tip: Not every dish gets added to Google Maps.

Explore popular dishes

  1. Open the Google Maps app Maps.
  2. Search for a place or tap it on the map.
  3. Scroll down to the place's info tab.
  4. Tap Menu.
  5. To browse photos and reviews of a dish, tap the dish thumbnail.

Add or edit a dish

  1. Open the Google Maps app Maps.
  2. Search for a place or tap it on the map.
  3. Scroll down to the place's info tab.
  4. Tap Menu.
    • To add a dish:
      1. Scroll down to 'Something missing?".
      2. Tap Add dish.
    • To add a photo to a dish:
      1. Select the dish that you want to add a photo to.
      2. Tap More More and then Add a photo.
      3. Select a photo.
      4. Tap Done.
    • To add a dish name to a photo:
      1. Add a photo to Google Maps from the place's page.
      2. When a request to add a dish name appears, name and recommend the dish.

Report a dish

You can report a dish that:

  • Is inappropriate
  • Is inaccurate
  • Doesn’t exist

To report a dish:

  1. Open the Google Maps app Maps.
  2. Search for a place or tap it on the map.
  3. Scroll down to the place's info tab.
  4. Tap Menu and then dish that you want to report and then Suggest an edit.
  5. Select from the following reasons:
    • Edit dish name
    • Incorrect dish name
    • Offensive dish name
    • Dish not served here

Tip: To review a dish, mention the dish in your place review. The review shows up on the dish page.
