Create a list of places

In Google Maps, you can create a list of places, like your favorite places or places you want to visit.

Make a new list

1. On your computer, open Google Maps.
2. Click Menu Saved .
3. In the top right, click New list .
4. Enter a name and description.
5. Click Save.

Save a place to a list

1. Search for a place or click it on the map.
2. Click Save.
3. Choose a list. To create a list, click New list .
4. Optional: To remove a place from a list, click Saved the list.

See your lists

1. On your computer, open Google Maps.
2. Click Menu Saved .

Edit or delete a list

1. On your computer, open Google Maps.
2. Click Menu Saved .
3. To erase a list, click More Delete list.
4. To edit a list, at the top, click More Edit list. From here you can:
   • Edit the list: Click the name or description you want to change.
   • Add notes: Click the box below the address. You can add up to 4,000 characters.
   • Delete a saved place: Click Remove .

Your changes are saved automatically. Your comment appears in your saved list below the place.

Hide or show your lists

1. On your computer, open Google Maps.
2. Click Menu Saved .
3. Next to the list you want to update, click More .
4. Choose an option:
   • Hide on your map: Hide your saved places.
   • Show on your map: Show your saved places.

Share your lists

Important: You can’t share starred places.

1. On your computer, open Google Maps.
2. Click Menu Saved .
3. Next to the list you want to share, click More .
4. Choose an option:
   • Send a link to view: Share a link of your list through your preferred app or method.
   • Sharing options: Update who can find your lists.
     • Private: Only you can find your lists.
     • Shared: Anyone with your link can find your lists.

Manage who can edit your shared lists

Invite others to edit a shared list

1. On your computer, open Google Maps.
2. Click Menu Saved .
3. Next to the list you want to update, click More Invite to edit Get a link.
4. Click COPY THE LINK.
5. Share the link through your preferred app or method.

Remove editors from a shared list

1. On your computer, open Google Maps.
2. Click Menu Saved .
3. Next to the list you want to update, click More Sharing options.
4. Under “Edit Options,” turn off Let others edit your list.

Follow a list

If you follow a list made by someone else, their saved places will show up in Saved . The places also appear as suggested locations in Google Maps.

1. Open the list.
2. At the top, click Follow. This list will now be added to the group of lists you follow.
3. Optional: To unfollow a list, click the list Following.

Export your saved lists

1. Go to takeout.google.com.
2. Make sure “Saved” is checked in “Create A New Export.”
3. Click Next Step.
4. Select a destination, frequency, and file format.
5. Click Create Export.
