Use the Street View app

  1. Open the Street View app Street View.
  2. At the top, tap one of these tabs:
  • Featured: Popular 360 photos from all around the world.
  • Explore: The top 360 photos of your map view.
  • Profile: 360 photos that you’ve published to Maps. You can also share photos, see view counts and publish photos. To see your top, most recently published or Maps approved photos, tap Stats.
  • Private: 360 photos that you’ve created but haven’t published.

Tip: A collection is a set of photos that belong to a place or account. To see photos within a collection, swipe left or right on the cards at the bottom of the screen.

Use Google Cardboard

  1. Open the Street View app Street View.
  2. Open a photo.
  3. In the top right, tap Cardboard viewer .
  4. Place your phone inside the viewer.

Explore Street View

  • To look around, drag your finger on the screen or tap the compass.
  • To see a wider view and change to landscape mode, turn your device sideways.
  • To zoom in, pinch open on the screen. To zoom out, pinch closed on the screen.

Contribute 360 photos

You can see nearby locations and businesses that don't yet have a 360 photo. Use the Street View app to add a photo for the place.

  1. Open the Street View app Street View.
  2. On the "Contribute" tab, tap on the circles.
  3. See a place's information, like opening hours and estimated number of views.
  4. Create and publish a photo for a place. Learn how to create and publish photos.

Turn on collection notifications

You can get notifications when a collection is added to the Street View app. To turn notifications on, follow the steps below.

  1. Open the Street View app Street View.
  2. In the top left, tap the Menu .
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Next to “Notify me of new collections”, turn the switch on. If the switch is on, it’ll be blue.
