Give a place a private label

You can add private labels to places on your map. Labelled places show up on your map, in search suggestions, in the "Your places" screen, and in Google Photos.

To add a label, follow the steps below.

  1. Open Google Maps.
  2. Search for a place or address.
  3. Choose Add a label.

Note: You need Web & App Activity turned on to give a place a label.

Edit a label
  1. Open Google Maps.
  2. Click Menu Menu and then Your places and then Labelled.
  3. Choose the label that you want to edit.
  4. Click Edit your label Edit.
  5. Enter a new label name.
Delete a label
  1. Open Google Maps.
  2. Click Menu Menu and thenYour places and then Labelled.
  3. Next to the label that you want to remove, click Remove Remove.
Find a labelled place on the map
  1. Open Google Maps.
  2. Click Menu Menu and thenYour places and then Labelled.
