Always show the scale bar

On your mobile device, you can see the scale bar all the time or only when zooming in and out.

Note: If you're using Google Maps on your computer, you can't change the scale bar visibility. It will always appear at the bottom right of the screen.

To see the scale bar:

1. On your mobile device, open the Google Maps app .
2. Tap your profile picture or initial .
3. Tap Settings   Scales.
4. Choose While zooming or Always.
