You can get transit departures from the Google Maps app. Some transit stations show real-time departures while others show a schedule of departures.
Find nearby departures
- On your mobile device, open the Google Maps app

- Enter a destination and tap Directions
.
- At the top, tap Transit
.
- To select a preferred mode of transportation and route, tap Options
Done.

- Scroll to find transit options and times. Tap a route for directions.
Tip: After you select your trip, to pin your frequent trips, tap Pin

Find departures from a specific station
- Open the Google Maps app
.
- Search for the station or tap it on the map.
Adjust your time of departure
If you miss a train or arrive early for a transit trip, you can select alternate departures to adjust the trip at the moment.
Important: When you select a new departure time, your current and future transit times automatically update.
- On your mobile device, open the Google Maps app
.
- Search for your destination or tap it on the map.
- Enter a destination and tap Directions
.
- At the top, tap Transit
.
- At the top, enter your starting location.
- Confirm your departure date and time, then tap the route you want. Your route details will open.
- Under your departure station name, you’ll find up to 2 later departure times, if available.
- For example, you might find “Also at 1:30 PM & 2:15 PM.”
- To expand your departure options, on the left, tap the arrow
. If available, Maps shows you other departure times.
- If you don’t find a time you want, tap More departures and review all available departure times and trip details. To return to departure times and make your selection, tap Back

- Select the departure time you want.
Find station crowd levels
When you make a trip on public transit, you might be able to find out how crowded a station is. When it’s available, you can find crowd level information under the name of the station. The information is based on public transit data.
