Google Maps on other websites

Google Maps can appear on sites across the web, like local reviews, travel, and real estate sites. Your information, like your home, work, and saved places, is visible only to you. The website can’t see your information.

Sign in to a map on a website

If you see your profile icon in the top right corner of a map, you can see your saved places and places relevant to you. This information is still private only to you, and we don't share it with the website.

Sign in or out of a map

If instead you see a blue Sign in button, you can sign in to Google to see a map with content relevant to you. To sign in to your Google Account from the map:

  1. Open the webpage with the map.
  2. In the top right of the map, click the Sign in button.
  3. Enter your information and click Sign in.

To sign out of a map:

  1. Open the webpage with the map.
  2. Mouse over your profile link in the top right of the map.
  3. Click Account or your Google+ profile link.
  4. On the next page, click Sign out.
  5. Return to the website with the map and refresh the page.

Save places from other websites

You can also save new places to your Google Maps from some maps on other websites. When you see them later in Maps, we'll include the site you saw them on to help jog your memory.

  1. Open the website with a map.
  2. Click a place on the map to see the place card information.
  3. [If turned on] Next to "Save to Google Maps," click the star icon Star.

Your star will appear on your desktop and mobile Google Maps. If you open the place information, you'll also see the name of the website you saved the place from, and you can link back to the site you found it on.
