Report a data problem in Google Maps

You can tell us if you see something wrong with the map, like incorrect business details or a wrong road name, by following the instructions below. If you think something should be removed for legal reasons, submit a legal request.

Note: You can only report a data problem in some countries and regions.

To report a problem with the info on Google Maps, follow the steps below.

What you can report

You can report a problem on a business, address, or street. Depending on what you're reporting, here's a list of things you can tell us about:

  • Business name
  • Address
  • Category
  • Marker location
  • Phone number
  • Website
  • Business hours
  • A place is permanently closed or doesn't exist

If the problem you're having isn't listed above, let us know by sending us feedback.

Report a problem

Computer
  1. Open Google Maps and make sure you're signed in.
  2. In the top left, click the main menu .
  3. Click Send feedback.
  4. Choose Report a data problem.
  5. To report your issue, follow the instructions.
  6. Click Submit.

Tip: If you search for a place and see incorrect business details, you can suggest edits by clicking Suggest an edit.

Note: If you're using Maps in Lite mode, you can't report a data problem to Google Maps.

Phone or tablet

Report a data problem from the menu

Android phone or tablet

  1. Open the Google Maps app maps.
  2. Touch the menu > Send feedback > Report a data problem.

iPhone or iPad

  1. Open the Google Maps app maps.
  2. Touch the menu > Help & Feedback > Send feedback > Report a data problem.

Report a data problem after searching for a place

  1. Open the Google Maps app maps.
  2. Search for a place or touch a point on the map.
  3. At the bottom, touch the place's name or address.
  4. Scroll down and touch Suggest an edit or Report a problem.
  5. To report your issue, follow the instructions.
  6. In the top right, touch the arrow or Submit.

Note: You can also use Google Map Maker to edit places that matter to you on Google Maps.

How long it takes to review edits

We review your edits, so your changes might take some time show up on the map. Google may email you about the status of your edits and may forward you questions from other people who review your edits.

Report a photo or Street View image

You can report a photo in the Google Maps app or report a Street View image.

To report a photo on your mobile device, you need the latest version of the Maps app.

To report an inappropriate photo in the Maps app, follow the steps below.

  1. Open the Google Maps app maps.
  2. Search for a place or touch a point on the map.
  3. At the bottom, touch the place's name or address.
  4. Touch photos.
  5. Select a photo.
  6. In the bottom right, touch the flag .

To report an image on your mobile device, you need the latest version of the Street View app.

Let us know if you see a Street View image that has inappropriate content, like blurring or poor image quality.

Troubleshooting tips

I followed the steps and the info is still wrong

If the map is still wrong, you can use Google Map Maker to fix the information yourself. Map Maker edits go live when reviewers confirm it's correct.

Personal information appears for an unrelated business

If personal information appears on a business or place's search result in Maps, Google+, or Google Search, let us know by following the steps below.

  1. Open Google Maps and make sure you're signed in.
  2. Search for the business.
  3. Below the search box, click Suggest an edit.
  4. To report your issue, follow the instructions.
  5. Click Submit.
Satellite imagery needs updating

You can't report satellite imagery, but you can use the Follow Your World tool to find out when new imagery will be available.

Driving directions are wrong

Computer

  1. Open Google Maps and make sure you're signed in.
  2. Get directions.
  3. In the top left, click the main menu .
  4. Click Send feedback.
  5. Choose Report a data problem.
  6. To report your issue, follow the instructions.
  7. Click Submit.

Phone or tablet

  1. Open the Google Maps app maps.
  2. Search for a place or touch a point on the map.
  3. At the bottom, touch the name of the destination.
  4. Swipe up to see more info.
  5. Touch Suggest an edit or Report a problem.
  6. Follow the directions on the screen to send your feedback.

If lane guidance is wrong, follow the steps below.

  1. Open the Google Maps app maps.
  2. Search for a place and start turn-by-turn navigation.
  3. In the top left, touch the lane symbol.
  4. Choose the problem you had.
  5. When you send a report to us, we get your approximate location. We don’t gather information like your overall route or where you’re headed.

Important: Don’t try to send your report while driving. Keep your eyes on the road and obey driving laws while driving.
