Set or change your home & work addresses

Type less and get directions faster by setting your home and work addresses. On your phone or tablet, you can also choose an icon for your home and work.

Tip: You must be signed in to set, edit, and find your home and work on the map. Learn how to sign in to Google Maps.

Set your home or work address

  1. On your computer, open Google Maps and make sure you're signed in.
  2. Click Menu Menu and then Your places and then Labeled.
  3. Choose Home or Work.
  4. Type in your home or work address, then click Save.

  1. Click Menu Menu

  2. Click Your places.

    Click "Your places."

  3. Click Labeled and then Home or Work.

    Click Labeled > Home or Work

  4. Click Save.

Change your home or work address

  1. Open Google Maps and make sure you're signed in.
  2. In the search box, type Home or Work.
  3. Next to the address you want to change, click Edit.
  4. Type in a new address, then click Save.

Delete your home or work address

  1. Open Google Maps and make sure you're signed in.
  2. Click Menu Menu and then Your places and then Labeled.
  3. Next to your home or work address, click the Close.

Fix problems with home and work in Maps

To use home and work when you search or use directions, you must turn on Web & App Activity. If you can't find home and work in Maps, learn how to turn on Web & App Activity.
