Add or fix a road in Google Maps

If we need to add or edit road information in Google Maps, you can let us know. Google Maps road errors include:

  • Incorrect or missing road names
  • Incorrect info about one- and two-way roads
  • An incorrectly drawn road
  • Road closures
  • A road on the map that doesn't exist
  • Missing roads
Important: You can only submit edits to Maps in some countries and regions.

Fix incorrect info about a road

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app Maps.
  2. On the bottom, tap the "Contribute" tab.
  3. Tap Edit map and then Add or fix a road.
  4. Select the type of info you want to fix and then Select the affected road.
  5. From the bottom tiles, select the road segment you want to fix and tap Next.
  6. Enter the correct information and tap Send

Add a missing road

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app Maps.
  2. On the bottom, tap the "Contribute" tab.
  3. Tap Edit map and then Add or fix a road
  4. Tap Missing road  and then Add first road.
  5. Move the pin to the location where the missing road begins.
  6. At the bottom, tap Add plus to start drawing.
  7. Drag the pin to the location where the road ends and tap Add plus.
  8. Add the road name and road type.
  9. To complete the road, tap Save and then Done .
    • To add additional missing roads, tap "Add another road" and follow steps 6-9.
  10. To submit the missing road, tap Next. Add more details if any and tap Send.
