Use Google Maps in dark theme

You can change the colour theme of Google Maps on your mobile device. Dark theme can make your screen easier to read and reduce battery usage.

Turn on dark mode

1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Maps app .
2. Tap your profile picture or initial   Settings   Dark mode.
3. Select one of the following options:
   • On: Dark mode is always turned on in Maps, regardless of system settings.
   • Off: Dark mode is always turned off in Maps, regardless of system settings.
   • Same as device setting: Follow iOS system appearance setting.
