On your mobile device, you can post photo updates of a place. These updates are visual posts that you contribute to so that you can share updates about a place, like:
- Changes to business hours
- Seasonal menus
- New products or services
- Renovations
- Exhibits
- COVID-19 updates
For places that have multiple photo updates, the most recent update shows up first.
Delete photo updates
When you delete photo updates from Google Maps, they're automatically deleted from Google Search.
- Tap Contribute
View your profile.
- Under "Photos," find your photo updates.
- Tap the photo you want to delete.
- In the top right, tap Remove
Delete.
Photos you delete from Google Maps aren't automatically deleted from:
- Your phone or tablet’s gallery
- Google Photos, if you have back up & sync turned on
- Google Drive, if you have sync turned on
Tip: If you remove all the photos that are part of a photo update, all text in the update is also removed. As long as there are still photos in the photo update, the remaining photos and text still shows up.
