Post photo updates of a place

On your mobile device, you can post a photo and video update about a place. You can post photos and videos of things like:

• Changes to business hours
• Seasonal menus
• New products or services
• Renovations
• Exhibits
• COVID-19 updates

For places that have multiple updates, the most recent update shows up first.

Post a photo update

1. On your Android device, open the Google Maps app .
2. Search for a place or tap it on the map.
   • If you get multiple locations in your search, tap the location you want to update.
3. At the bottom, tap the place's name or address.
4. At the middle, tap Updates  By visitors.
5. Tap Add a photo update. 

Tip: You can post multiple photos and videos in the same update and location.

You can find photo and video updates that you or others made.

Find your photo updates

1. On your Android device, open the Google Maps app .
2. At the bottom, tap Contribute . 
3. Tap View your profile. 
4. Under "Reviews," find your photo or video updates.

Find photo updates from others

1. On your Android device, open the Google Maps app .
2. Search for a place or tap it on the map.
   • If you get multiple locations in your search, tap the location you want to update.
3. At the bottom, tap the place's name or address.
   • For full updates, tap Updates.
   • For individual updates, tap Photos.

Delete photo updates

Important: When you delete photo and video updates from Google Maps, they're automatically deleted from Google Search.

1. On your Android device, open the Google Maps app .
2. At the bottom, tap Contribute . 
3. Tap View your profile.
4. Under "Other contributions," find your photo update.
   • If you can’t find your photo update, you can find it under “Reviews.” 
   • In "Reviews," you can only delete individual photos or videos and not the whole update.
5. Tap the photo or video you want to delete.
6. At the top right, tap Remove Delete.

Photos and videos you delete from Google Maps aren't automatically deleted from:

• Your phone or tablet’s gallery
• Google Photos, if you have back up & sync turned on
• Google Drive, if you have sync turned on

Tip: If you remove all the photos or videos that are part of a photo update, all text in the update is also removed. If there are still photos or videos in the update, the remaining photos, videos, and text still show up.

Report photo updates from others

Important: If you find something inappropriate or inaccurate in a photo update, let us know.

1. On your Android device, open the Google Maps app .
2. Search for a place or tap it on the map.
3. At the middle, tap Updates. 
4. Select the photo or video update that you want to report.
5. Tap More   Report update.
6. Select or enter the reason for your report.
7. Tap Submit.
