What does Google do with my data?

Where will my map content be?

If used, your map content may be displayed in Google Maps, Google Earth, and/or Google Search. Your content may also be available through Google Maps and other APIs.

What happens to my data after I share it?

We review your uploaded data and identify anything that needs to be added to or modified on our map.  For example, your data may have roads or addresses missing from our map or a road with a new name. During evaluation, we may cross-reference your data against other sources like satellite imagery or street view.

How long will it take for my content to show on Google's services?

Processing times vary based on the number of uploads we receive in a given month and our prioritization of different data types. To accelerate processing, please follow our content requirements

Note: Processing timelines may be longer for bikes, parks and trails.
