In my gmail app google meet tab is not added I checked the settings and gone to my account setting

My sincere thanks for contributing with the necessary details. I have passed this issue for to the team at Google for a look-in. I would also ask each of you to send this as feedback through that option in your Gmail Android app that directly reaches the team for greater impact. Can you check if uninstalling updates for the Gmail app and then reinstalling the update helps? If not, please include some relevant details like the Android version on the device for me to further check into it.

The Meet tab doesn't show when you are using a non-Google account. If you added your gmail.com or G Suite account as type Personal (IMAP) instead of type Google, no Meet tab will appear.
Here is a screenshot of the inbox of a Gmail account where I added it as Personal IMAP rather than Google.

To add to KeithR's suggestion above, what's the version of the Gmail app you see in your device? I am running Gmail version 2020.08.09.327326543.Release. If you have the same Gmail app version, check if Meet tab is not selected to remain hidden by visiting 3-bar menu option > Settings > that account > Show the meet tab for video calling.

Sorry, I assumed that since we were talking about the Gmail app, that you would start from there. In the Gmail app, tap on the Menu icon (three horizontal lines) at the top left, then scroll down to find Settings.
How do we get into the inbox and add a type as IMAP instead of google?
If you want to see the Meet option, you must use type Google, not IMAP.
