I want to automatically label all emails that I receive outside of Internal emails from my company. It doesn't seem like I am able to do so with a negative Boolean filter in the 'From' section while creating a new filter.

Example:
I work at "My Company" and our email domain is '@mycompany.com'. I want to automatically label all mail that is received that doesn't have a domain that matches that as 'Client Emails' to help organize/filter quickly.

Does anyone have any insight or a workaround to make this happen?

Thanks in advance!

You can setup the negative boolean by putting the search term in the "Has the words" section.

The following will give you information about the search terms available and their syntax.

This doesn't fully answer my question. I am trying to pre-label all incoming messages that are from senders OUTSIDE my organization.

i understand that I can apply the negative boolean in the "Has the words" section, but I don't know all the different emails that I may be receiving mail from.

I need this too! Badly. Just a filter that says, "NOT from *@domain.com OR *@otherdomain.com".

Take out the "*@" (so it's just the domain name) and that should work for a filter.

I want any domain NOT domain.com.

There's no search term for "any domain".

OK, so if my company's domain is "mydomain.com", there is no way to label all mail that isn't from "mydomain.com" as external.  Basically I want to seperate my client's email from all the internal stuff I get, so I can focus on getting to my client's and prospect's email first.  To be clear, this could be hundreds if not thousands of external domains, and there is no way of maintaining a list of domains.

Thanks!

You could try:  -from:mydomain.com  (not from my domain).
