So this is a lengthy description but I’m having an issue adding another account to my main gmail. I’ve created a Gsuite account and I created alias emails within my account there. I took one of those emails to the add another email section on gmail and I put my name the email and hit next step but afterwards it’s telling me to enter an SMTP server and a password to that email I made and I have no clue what password to put there because I’ve never had a password for an SMTP server or there’s no password for this and I’m just very confused.

I have been using the "send email as..." function on gmail for years and yesterday it is begun bouncing my sent emails, saying "You're sending this from a different address or alias using the 'Send mail as' feature. The settings for your 'Send mail as' account are misconfigured or out of date. Check those settings and try resending."
When I go into the settings it is asking for a password smtp , I can sign into both accounts no problems but can't seem to enter the correct password on the settings screen?

same issues here.. I can log on to gmail in chrome, but not via outlook where I have used it for years.. outlook stopped replicatign over the weekend. I did update my google PW, and that works everywhere EXCEPT outlook on the PC (works on my Android phone and my iPAD)

Having the same issue, and it only happens with one of my contacts (that I know of). Every time I send a message to her, it bounces back with the same error. Doesn't happen with any other email recipients.

I ran into this out of the blue as well. My password hadn't changed, yet it didn't want to authenticate all of a sudden. I changed my password multiple times, just in case, and it didn't change anything.
I didn't have 2FA turned on, so I turned it on and created an application-specific password. Once the application-specific password was supplied, everything started working again.
Might be worth trying if you're running into this and you know the password is correct and you have less secure access turned on.
