click the
gear picture ( cog wheel ) in gmail ( at top right ) click settings click labels choose show in label list
OR
IMAGE INCLUDED BELOW THE EXPLANATION while you are in gmail - on the far left is your label list , there is a line below the last visible label which you can drag up or down ( if you cant see it grab the top of your chat box and drag it down ) , drag it down until you see more ( if you cant see more - hover over the last visible label for a second and it will expand ) , click more then scroll down to see all labels , you can also drag labels to above or below that line as well ( alternatives to this method : click manage labels ( at the VERY BOTTOM of the label list after you click MORE to set which labels to show above the line and which to hide ( here https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#settings/labels ) OR via the top right gear icon in gmail > settings > labels OR via the pull down menu next to each label )
you can also minimise the chat / gadgets which will help a lot by clicking on the bottom left chat bubble or the gadgets ellipses (...), their icons will go grey when minimised , or if you dont use chat you can turn it off in settings here https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#settings/chat , if you do you can enable the lab for right side chat here https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#settings/labs you can also try zoom out ( control minus a few times )

If you don't see Sent in the left column, scroll down and click on More to see if it shows up. If so, you can make it visible by dragging it up or through the Label settings.
