Since approximately the most recent app update (April 2, according to the play store update log) the gmail app on my galaxy note 8 has not been sending new message notifications. I went through troubleshooting on twitter (you can see everything i've tried here) and have had no success in getting notifications to come through again. None of my other apps have had any issue delivering notifications, this seems to be exclusive to gmail. Restarting, checking my sync settings, checking in and out of app notification settings, checking my connections, adding a new account to see if it was account-specific (it was not), and clearing cache and data have all failed to solve the problem.

Hi,

By default, notifications are turned on for any messages in your Primary label.
First, turn on notifications & choose your settings
  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app .
  2. In the top left, tap Menu
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Select your account.
  5. Tap Notifications and select a notification level.
  6. Tap Inbox notifications. Note: If you're using Android O and above, tap Manage notifications. Under your account, make sure the switch is set to On.
  7. Choose your notification settings, including sounds.
Note: Your Android device also has notification settings that are separate from the Gmail app.

Per my initial post as well as the thread of trouble shooting linked therein, this has already been checked. All notification settings are sound, but the app is not delivering notifications regardless.

 In my Nokia 7.1,  Gmail notification for new mails is not happening/ coming. I tried checking;
1. Gmail notification enabled under Settings> App & notifications>Gmail notifications> Show notification enabled (as well as all options)
2. Checked under gmail app> settings> Notifications>selected All (also have selected all options in that page)
3. Noticied on Wifi at times(not always) I get the notification but never on mobile data

please suggest some workable solution.
