Gmail mistakenly creates a false link

Hello!  I'm a teacher as well as a sponsor for a club called "As.Is"  Whenever I type the club name into e-mails, Gmail links it after sending it to a lovely, completely unrelated Icelandic Real Estate agency.

Is it possible to disable Gmail's auto-linking of "as.is"?

Hi Mark, unfortunately there's no easy way to disable the auto-linking.  If you were able to use some trick to insert a zero-width character either side of the dot, that would break the algorithm.  Gmail's composer does this automatically when you edit text, so you might be able to find some way to type up the message using just "As", then go back and insert the ".is".

This text "as.is" includes the zero width non-break space character unicode FEFF inserted using the Google Docs editor on the right side of the dot.
