Google Prompt not working on iPhone - I get the prompt, but tapping YES does nothing

Tapping yes on google prompt but nothing happens to sign in. I use the Google App on my iPhone (iOS 12) and have tried to setup Google prompt for 2 part authentication. when I try to set it up, I get the alert on my phone, "Is it you?" and tap yes, but nothing seems to then happen on the computer. After a few mins, the alert "This is embarrassing, something went wrong" appears in my Google Account settings. It does appear to work with another account on another phone so is there something I need to reset or clear a cache or something?

Odd! Can you please answer the following:
  • Is this happening for one or all accounts in your device?
  • If you receive prompts in multiple devices for that account, is it working in other devices?

Have you checked  if removing the prompt and setting it up afresh helps?

Try closing/quitting your gmail app.

That fixed it for me

Almost identical story with User 10833533308128834075. I sent my Pixel 2 XL back for warranty replacement. I transferred the data from my old phone to my current one. Factory reset that one and sent it back. Everything seems to sync just fine but on my primary account, when I get the Prompt on my phone and tap it, it doesn't do anything. Thankfully I can still use SMS as my 2 step verification but I would like to have Prompts working again.

I have a Google Pixel 2 XL.
Gmail version 2019.05.26.252424914
Android 9 Build Number PQ3A.190605.003

After trying some lengthy workarounds, deleting the account, and signing back in, none of those worked. Ultimately I did a factory reset on the phone. Only signed into the problem account at first and now Prompts at working again for me.

Having the exact same issue after iPhone upgrade from iPhone7 to 11Pro (iOS 13.0).  Tried signing out and deleted all google accounts on my old phone as well as new and retried the 2FA google prompt on the new phone, no luck.  Always getting the "This is embarrassing" error message after trying to enable the prompt.

One thing I noticed is the Signed in Devices list - whenever I signed into my new phone (iPhone 11 pro) this device gets picked up and displays as Signed In, while the Device Info is always showing as iPhone 7 with all the incorrect history associated.  Please fix this ASAP.

I have the same issue Vicky Lee is facing.  My google account is able to detect my ipad (iOS 12.4) & iphone (iOS 13). However, everytime I try to enable google prompt, it keeps showing error message.
"Well, this is embarrassing It looks like something went wrong. Want to try that again?"

Please help!

Same issue as Vicky Lee above. Signed out and deleted Google accounts for old iPhone 7 Plus. Signed in on new iPhone 11 Pro. But Google Devices List insists on continuing to name the 11 Pro as my old 7 Plus with incorrect history - no matter how many times I sign everything out, change passwords, reboot, etc etc etc. It has rendered Prompts impossible and I now just keep getting the "Well, this is embarrassing" error.
