Does anyone know how to forward a specific message in an email chain without sending the whole email

Does anyone know how to forward a specific message in an email chain without sending the whole email chain when using Gmail? Just got in hot water because I thought I forwarded one email within the chain and the entire chain was sent. I clicked on the specific email and clicked the 3 dots to forward, but the entire conversation was sent in the forwarded email. Is this a flaw in Gmail or am I not doing something right. This is a corporate email and I need to ensure this never happens again.

Hi, I escalated this issue to Google, so please wait for a while.

The problem is that Google refuses to fix this. When I open up an email chain and click on a certain email to forward within that email chain, the default should not be to send every email in that chain.  This is reckless and they refuse to fix this. I went back and looked at emails forwarded to me from others and sure enough, whole email chain was forwarded. This is happening to everyone. You shouldn’t have to delete all emails within the chain to send one within the chain.  I can not believe Google has not fixed this.  What is the problem that they refuse to fix this?  I am back to Outlook as of this afternoon. I refuse to risk my job by making that same mistake twice.

No. Clicking forward sends all emails in the chain.  There is no “forward all” option.  There SHOULD be a forward all command, but simply defaulting to forwarding all emails in the chain is reckless.  You should be able to pick the 3rd email in a chain of 100 emails and click forward on that email and that should be the only email that is sent. Not the entire string of email responses from everyone in the group.  This is dangerous and completely irresponsible on Googles part.why don’t they fix this?
Hello, @Kelly Harrelson?
Thanks for waiting.
Thanks to other GPEs: Penelope and icantchooseone, https://support.google.com/mail/thread/4114966?hl=en can help you.

Referring icantchooseone and Penelope’s answer in GPE Community, this would help you!
it still goes ahead and forwards the entire chain of emails....

No it doesn't.  It forwards that one message
which includes all the quoted content
(since people often don't bother to delete it from replies).  You'll have to deleted it from the draft before forwarding.

To clarify, you need to remove any quoted content in the specific message you are forwarding before sending.

Please read the mentioned thread carefully, and ask me if you have any questions so that me and other PEs / Googlers can help you!

Regards,
Cyan
Yeah., I understand what you mean but I guess OP want not to delete and forward just one mail with less effort :(

The answer is that without manually deleting from the draft you are forwarding, all of the emails in the chain will be sent.  As I said, this is dangerous.  I have flipped everything back to Outlook and deleted my Gmail account.  Will not use it again.
