How do I remove extra blank lines (double spaces) in Gmail signature?

I've looked at menu offered to make changes as shown below.

Err... nothing shown below, but did you cut and paste the sign from another piece of software?

No I did not. I typed it right in the signature box in Settings. I can't figure out how to minimize it so it is single-spaced.

I'm having the same issue also. Copy/Pasted some of the text, some I created new. Both are double line spaced, quite annoying. It LOOKS fine in the signature editor, and when shown in an email I'm composing. But recipients see double line spaced.

I can't remove the extra spacing in my signature. Can you help?

I have the same problem that when I send emails, my signature is double-spaced.  How to I correct this?
