Question about the data-saferedirecturl tag in URL found in Gmail mail

Hi,

I have a question about the data-saferedirecturl tag. Specifically what is this tag used for and when does google insert this into the message? What happens when a user clicks on a link in an email, would the href take effect or the url in the data-saferedirecturl tag?

How do we bypass or disable this feature / action???
