Maintenance error message occuring for more than 24 hours

Explain your issue in full detail here:

Receiving the following error after 24 hours of no access to email:

We’re currently performing maintenance on your account. You won’t be able to log in while maintenance is underway, but your account data and messages are safe. Unfortunately, we can’t predict exactly how long this will take.

If this maintenance lasts more than 24 hours, please contact us at gmail-ma...@google.com.

I am experiencing the same problem. It has been occuring since Saturday, and at this point I am starting to get quite desparate. My business depends heavily on our gmail account and I have paid for additional storage space. Sending mail to the gmail-ma...@google.com account simply bounces back with a message stating that the mailbox does not exist.

The account I am having the problem with is pukis...@gmail.com, but I have had to register pukisy...@gmail.com as an alternative. I will log in with that account and post the same reply.

Please let us know if any of you are still experiencing this issue.  Periodically, an account will undergo maintenance to restore it to good, working order.  It does vary how much time it takes based on the account, but more than 48 hours is unusual and we'd like to hear about it.

Posting here at the recommendation of Sahil above (thanks Sahil):

I'm now on DAY SIX of "Sorry... account maintenance underway" for my Gmail account (started Oct. 20). No response from gmail-ma...@google.com despite repeated emails.  I've tried accessing from multiple PCs with different IP addresses, different browsers, and different operating systems.  No luck.  My email address is affil...@gmail.com.

Over the past several years, my company has spent millions of dollars (literally) on Google AdWords.  For the past two years I have paid Google $500/year for paid storage (increased storage for my Gmail account!).  This is how PAYING customers are treated?  None of my contacts at Google are able to help.

Does anyone at Google read these comments, or are you just too large to give a damn?

P.S. I've read the App Status below - but again, I'm on DAY SIX of this problem.  It's ridiculous to have to wait six days while this issue "will be corrected as part of our ongoing maintenance activities"!

My account have been down for 48 hours now, no response from gmail team when sending them an email from my hotmail account... I also did changes to my labels and then everything froze and this error occurred :-(
I can access all other areas than mail, so I don't buy that my mail account is undergoing maintenance!
The worst thing is that I need access to my mail to confirm my masters thesis proposal, so I really need access to my account ASAP!!
