How can I sort my messages by sender?

I would like to clean out my INBOX and think the easiest way to do so would be to sort by sender. I know I could use the search bar and type a sender in, but can't remember everyone who has ever sent me a message. Is there anyway to sort all messages by sender like in other email programs?

Dear gravi_t

Obviously, if so many people complaining about that, don't you think this feauture is handy and used by many people (including myself)?

Yahoo mail has this feature, why wouldn't Google be more proactive and listen for user's opition for a change?

I love Google and will stick with gMail, but I think to stay #1, Google has to listen for what users find useful, such as "sort by" feauture in gMail, or Google Toolbar for Chrome.

Thanks,

Mike

Are you kidding me?
I was just trying to clean out my mail box too, in which with my other email clients I organize by sender and delete, organize accordingly. Out of all the ones I use, this is the only one that does not have this feature?
Wow they seriously need to add this function.

I want to be able to sort by sender.  What is the deal here?  Our school has all of the teachers on gmail, but I will have my emails redirected to my other account if I can't sort.  Come on all you computer geniuses at GMAIL, how hard is this to fix?!

Okay, I have another problem, but I think that it is essentially the same as the other people here but slightly different. i want a feature to be able to sort out my messages by UNREAD. The reason is that i have been a bit lazy and have so many unread emails they went on to other pages and i want to place them all in one place so that i can delete , read, sort or move them. There's no way to do this unless i go through page by page.
Yahoo has something where I can just click a button showing me only unread messages. Even Microsoft outlook has a folder just for my unread messages,
Google. Do something I know it will make it easier for me and other people out there.
