Import .csv file into 'contacts'. birthday field doesn't work.
1 Recommended Answer
2. Export this contact (into google.csv)
3. Open google.csv to understand the structure of the fields (in rows) how you have to organize your contacts to import
4. Export your contacts from your mail-program into a csv or text file
5. Edit this file in excel to bring it into the structure of the google.csv
6. Birthdays: The only exception, Don't use the birthday row but you need two: "Event1 - Type" and "Event1 - Value" (birthday won't work); for type you use "Birthday" and for value you need to bring the date into a string (don't use excel date format; it wont work, transform the date into a string using the TEXT formula of excel; use the format "YYYY-MM-DD") in the format "YYYY-MM-DD" (if you enter the date directly in Excel start with a ' otherwise Excel recognizes your input as date and it won't be imported)
7. Once you have finished, and only then, save the file in Windows-CSV format (if you do it earlier and go back to edit this file again you will get trouble with special characters)
8. Import this file into gmail-contacts
note for groups: you can have more than one group by separating them with " ::: " (ig "*friends ::: *my contatcs")
