Changing default gmail (currently using multiple sign in)

I am currently using multiple sign in. My main problem is that I am unable to change my default gmail (I have two that I currently use). Also it flicks back to my default gmail when I click on settings - why is this so?

I am trying to phase out my old gmail, but retain it nonetheless. I just want to be able to change my default gmail when I'm on multiple sign in.

To clarify: You are saying you are signed in to two accounts via multiple sign in and cannot change the default while you are signed in to both, right? I don't think you can make that change so long as you are in both accounts.

Have you done this: Log out of both accounts. Log back into the primary account. Swap the primary and save the setting, then log out and log back in to what should be the new primary.

how do you "swap" the primary? I, too, want to change my primary acct to second @gmail acct...where all my "contacts" are stored.  I've forwarded the "primary" to the @gmail I WANT to use...but my iGoogle home page does not recognize it...and my droid now pulls up both accounts...not just the @gmail w the forwards...

What he is trying to say, the "default" one is the Google Account you just logged in the first time. If you want to change the default, sign off from both, then the first one  you log-in with, is the default account.

Weird, I know.
