There are two ways to use Gmail to find a space to join a topic of interest.
Use the Gmail search bar to find a space
- Open Gmail.
- In the search bar, enter keywords on topics you want to find.
- Below the search bar, you can filter results by Mail, Messages, or Spaces.
- Choosing Spaces will narrow down your results to space names or descriptions that match the keywords you search for.
- Use the drop-down filter to choose from:
- All spaces
- Spaces I have joined
- Spaces I haven't joined
- If you're using a work or school account, you'll also see a drop-down filter to choose from:
- Internal & External: Spaces that organization and non-organization members can join
- Internal: Spaces that only allow organization members to join
- External: Spaces that allow non-organization members to join
Use the left panel in Gmail to find a space
- Open Gmail.
- On the left panel, select an option:
- Next to "Spaces," click Create or find a space

- Next to “Chat,” click Start a chat
.
- Next to "Spaces," click Create or find a space
- Click Browse spaces.
- Enter the space name you want to find.
- Point to the space name.

Note: Discoverable spaces can only be searched via the Gmail search bar. They can't be searched via "Browse spaces" in the left panel.
