Create a Gmail signature

An email signature is text, like your contact information or a favorite quote, that’s automatically added at the end of Gmail messages as a footer.

Note: To learn how to recreate your Outlook signatures in Gmail, visit section 2.5 of the Learning Center.

Add or change a signature

Set up a signature that shows up only for emails you send from the Gmail app.

Note: Messages sent from the Gmail app will show the signature you set up on your computer unless you create a signature on the app.

  1. Open the Gmail app Gmail.
  2. In the top left, tap Menu Menu.
  3. Scroll to the bottom, then tap Settings.
  4. Choose the Google Account where you want to add a signature.
  5. Tap Signature.
  6. Enter the text for your signature.
  7. Tap OK.
