Gmail won’t load

If Gmail is slow or isn't loading correctly, follow the steps below to fix the problem.

Step 2: Check your browser extensions or applications

Sometimes extensions or add-ons that you've installed on your browser or applications that you’ve installed on your computer can prevent Gmail from working.

Try temporarily turning off these extensions and applications one by one, then using Gmail again to see if that solves the problem.

To try using Gmail without any extensions, open Gmail using your browser's incognito or private browsing mode.

Step 3: Clear your browser's cache and cookies

Try clearing your browser's cache and cookies, then using Gmail again to see if that solves the problem.

Step 4: Check your Gmail labs

If you have any labs turned on, try opening Gmail by visiting

If that fixes the problem, disable labs one at a time to work out which is causing the problem:

  1. Open Gmail.
  2. At the top right, click Settings Settings.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Click the Labs tab.
  5. Next to any labs that you have enabled, select Disable.
  6. At the bottom of the page, click Save changes.

The steps above haven't helped

If the problem still isn't fixed, check the G Suite Status Dashboard to see if there's a known issue with Gmail.
