'The Gmail user you are trying to contact...'

If you see the message "The user you are trying to contact is receiving mail at a rate that prevents additional messages from being delivered...," the person you’re emailing is getting too many messages in a short period of time. This problem usually goes away quickly.

Email limits for work or school accounts

If the person you're trying to reach gets Gmail through work or school, you can point them to more information about how many emails they can receive using Gmail.
