If you want to clean up your inbox without deleting your emails, you can archive or mute them. Your emails are moved to a label called "All Mail."
- When you archive a message: The message will come back to your inbox when someone replies to it.
- When you mute a message: Any replies stay out of your inbox. You can search for the conversation if you want to find it again.
Archive a message
Archive a single message
- Make sure you've downloaded the Gmail app.
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Gmail app

- Open the message. (If you want to stay in your inbox, tap the sender's profile image.)
- Tap Archive
.
Tip: If you selected Archive in your settings, you can swipe the message to the left from your inbox.
Archive multiple messages
- Make sure you've downloaded the Gmail app.
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Gmail app

- On the left, tap the sender's profile image next to the messages you want to archive.
- Tap Archive

When you search in Gmail, your results will include any messages that have been archived.

Open the All mail label
The All mail label is added to any message. If a message has been archived, you can find it by opening the All mail label.
- Make sure you've downloaded the Gmail app.
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Gmail app

- In the top left, tap Menu

- Tap All mail.
Move archived messages back to your inbox
- Make sure you've downloaded the Gmail app.
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Gmail app
.
- In the top left, tap Menu
All mail.
- On the left, tap the sender's profile image next to the message you want to move.
- In the top right, tap More
Move to Inbox. If you don't see this, tap Move to
Primary.
Mute or ignore messages
- Make sure you've downloaded the Gmail app.
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Gmail app

- Open the conversation. If you want to stay in your inbox, tap the sender's profile image.
- In the top right, tap More
Mute.
