Change your Gmail profile picture

You can choose a photo to set as your Gmail profile picture. This image shows up when someone sees your name in their email inbox or chat list.

Your Gmail profile picture is the same as your Google Account picture. Learn how to change your Google Account name and other info.

Change your picture

  1. On your computer, open Gmail.
  2. At the top right, click your Profile picture and then Change your profile picture .
  3. Click Change.
  4. Choose an illustration, or a picture from Google Photos or your computer.
  5. Rotate and crop your photo as needed.
  6. Click Next and then Save as profile picture.

Find an old profile picture

  1. On your computer, open Gmail.
  2. At the top right, click your Profile picture and then Change your profile picture .
  3. At the top right, click More  and then Past profile pictures.
