Sender images and selecting messages (Android)
You can use sender images in your inbox to select messages and see who’s involved in the conversation. Sender images are on by default, but you can always turn them off.
Select messages by touching one or more of the sender images on the left side of your inbox. You can also touch and hold messages to select them.
After selecting, you can take action on multiple messages at once, such as marking as unread or archiving.
Deselect individual messages by touching the checkmark on the left, or deselect all messages by touching the checkmark icon at the top.
Contacts without profile photos
If some of your friends and family don’t have profile photos, try these suggestions:
- Ask your contact to add a profile photo in Google+.
- Add a photo of your contact in the People app or Contacts app on your phone.
- Go to www.google.com/contacts on a computer and add pictures to your contacts.
Only you can see photos that you’ve added for a contact.
Hide sender images
- In the Gmail app, touch the Menu icon, then Settings.
- Select General settings.
- Uncheck Sender image.
To select messages, touch and hold each message.
