Mute Gmail messages

When you mute a conversation, the replies that you receive will skip your inbox and go directly to your archive. This keeps your inbox clean from long email threads.

After you've muted a message:

  • The message is labelled as 'Muted'.
  • You can still receive a message in your inbox if:
    • The message is only sent to you.
    • The message is sent to a Google Group that you're in.
    • Someone adds you to the 'To' or 'Cc' fields.
