Troubleshoot if the right-click menu is unavailable

Important: If the right-click menu is still unavailable after these steps, you can manage your emails from the buttons in your Gmail toolbar.

If you can’t open the right-click menu:

  1. On your computer, go to Gmail.
  2. At the top right, click Settings settings.
  3. In the “Quick settings” menu, under “Inbox type,” select Default.
  4. Under “Default,” click Customize.
  5. In the window, select one or more tabs.
  6. Click Save.

Tip: If you can’t change the inbox type or if the menu still doesn't show, check if you have more than 250,000 emails. Then, archive or delete your emails until you have less than 250,000.
