What you need
You can use “Help me write” with:
- An eligible Google Workspace or Google AI plan: Available in multiple supported languages globally.

Draft an email with "Help me write"
- On your computer, open Gmail.
- At the top left, click Compose.
- Or, you can reply to an email or open a draft.
- In the compose window, enter your message or leave the field blank.
- At the bottom, in the prompt bar, enter your prompt.
- If you can’t find the prompt bar, click Help me write
.
- If you can’t find the prompt bar, click Help me write
- Click Create
.
Refine your draft
To polish your draft:
- Enter a new instruction into the prompt bar like:
- "Make it more professional."
- "Mention the Friday deadline."
- Use these options in the prompt bar:

This info is only used to improve your drafts when you use “Help me write.”
