Setting the job types and industries your business provides and the areas you serve makes sure your ad shows to the right local customers. Be sure to update these settings if your business changes location or service offerings.
Note: Real estate agents and brokers in the U.S. and Canada cannot target their ads by postal code, per our policy.
How to edit your industry
- Sign in to your Local Services Ads account.
- Select the menu at the top left.
- Select Profile & Budget.
- On the "Job types" card, click on the pencil icon .
- Search for new industries to add in the search bar.
- After a new industry is selected, toggle on at least one job type and click Save.
- A prompt will appear to redirect you to the Business Verification page to upload additional verification requirements for the new industry.
- To remove an industry, select Remove at the right of the industry.
How to edit your service areas
- Sign in to your Local Services Ads account
- Select the menu at the top left.
- Select Profile & Budget.
- On the “Service areas” card, click on the pencil icon .
- To add a service area, search for a county, city, or zip code in the “Include these service areas” search bar.
- To remove an entire service area, search for a county, city, or zip code in the “Exclude these service areas” search bar.
- Click Save.
How to edit your job types
- Sign in to your Local Services Ads account
- Select the menu at the top left.
- Select Profile & Budget.
- On the “Job types” card, click on the pencil icon .
- Select the arrow to the right of the job industry on your account to expand and edit the job types offered in that industry. Toggle on the job types that apply to your business.
- Click Save.
