FAQs for Trusted Copyright Removal Program

Blogger

Application and account information

I already have an account that I use to submit my requests; should I use the same account for my application?

If you want to keep your history of submissions, you should use the same account that you already use for your normal submissions. Keep in mind that in certain cases, you'll have to submit requests through the standard track. In such cases, you'd need to log out of your Trusted Removals account, go to https://support.google.com/legal/contact/lr_dmca?product=blogger, and log in using a different account.

How can I edit my registration information or change my authorized agents after my registration has been approved?

You can add new individuals as agents on your registration form.

To do so, return to the registration page and click the "Edit form" button at the top of the page. You'll then be able to update your registration, and add or change authorized agents.

Once enrolled in the program, can I change the email address I use to log in?

Changing the email address on your registration will also affect your submission history. You can fill out a new TCRP application with a different Google account, which we will need to approve, then cancel the original application.

We can transfer existing quota limits to the new account, but we cannot transfer or combine DMCA Dashboard submission history from one account to another. You will still be able to access it by signing in to the original account.

Submission

What lines are required in the text file?

We require at least one description line (starting with a # symbol) before each copyright group. More may be used as needed. In the example below, the first copyrighted work has two lines of description, but the second has only one.

# Description of copyrighted work item 1
# More description of copyrighted work item 1
# URL of copyrighted work item 1
INFRINGEMENT_URL1_FOR_ITEM_1
INFRINGEMENT_URL2_FOR_ITEM_1
INFRINGEMENT_URL3_FOR_ITEM_1

# Description of copyrighted work item 2
INFRINGEMENT_URL1_FOR_ITEM_2
INFRINGEMENT_URL2_FOR_ITEM_2

Note: URLs must be on different lines. URLs separated by only a space will be rejected. The size of the text file may not exceed 1 MB.

I'd like to submit a Blogger URL, but it's in an unacceptable format. What should I do?
If you would like to submit a Blogger URL that is not an accepted format, you may log out of your TCRP account and log back in with a non-TCRP account. You should then submit the URL through the standard Blogger DMCA webform, located here.

How many separate notices can I submit per day?

The system will accept up to 30 separate notices per day as the initial quota.

How many URLs may be uploaded per notice?

The bulk upload file will accept up to 100 groups (individual copyrighted works, such as songs, movies, books, and blogs) with 1,000 URLs each. There will be an initial maximum limit of 5,000 URLs per day.

If you choose to use the webform option of the form (as opposed to the file upload), there is a limit of 10 groups per submission.

The submission limits reset every 24 hours, regardless of whether you hit your limit or not. Your particular reset time begins at the time that you used our system for the first time. If you submit requests every day, the reset time is at the same fixed time every day. If there is no submission for one day, the reset time will be the time of the next submission.

For instance, on day 1, you submit a takedown notice at 10 AM, and the submission limit is refreshed at 10 AM on day 2. If there is no submission on day 2, and you submit a takedown notice at 9 AM on day 3, then the refresh will be at 9 AM on day 4.

Note that if you submit a request that puts you over your limit, the entire request will be denied.

What happens if I submit a URL more than once?

If you submit a URL that you have previously submitted, the system will automatically remove it from your request. You will see a pop-up notification in the webform noting that some URLs have been removed from your request.

What's the most efficient way to submit takedown notices?

The idea for the TCRP is to allow rightsholders or their agents to submit many URLs in fewer actual notices. In other words, you should try to submit as many URLs as possible in a single notice, rather than breaking up small chunks of URLs into separate notices. The best way to do this is by using the file upload feature, the parameters for which are explained above.
What should I do if a URL needs to be removed from a Google product other than Blogger?
For the fastest response, please submit a request for each relevant product separately. Please go to https://www.google.com/support/go/legal for details.

User Dashboard

How frequently is the dashboard updated?

The dashboard will reflect URL status changes in real time. Please note that for technical reasons, there may be a slight delay between when the status is updated in the dashboard, and when a URL is actually removed.

How can I use the search box?

The search box will find specific URLs (exact match), so that you will be able to easily find the status of specific URLs you've submitted.
