Add multiple users

Multiple children in a family can use Google Kids Space. Each child can create their own user account on the tablet. Each can have their own special character, interests, and content.

Similarly, a supervised child and an adult can share a tablet with Kids Space when each creates a separate user profile. All users have their own spaces on the device for custom Home screens, accounts, apps, settings, and more.

Important: You must update your settings in Family Link before you can add more users to Kids Space.

Step 1: Allow additional users in Family Link.

  1. Open the Family Link app Family Link.
  2. Select your child.
  3. On the card with your child's device, tap View settings.
  4. Turn on Add/Remove user.
Tip: You can also manage your child's account by clicking on your child's name at families.google.com.

Step 2: Add another user to the device

  1. On your child's Kids Space device, open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Users & accounts.
  3. Tap Multiple Usersand then Add user.
  4. Follow the instructions.

Step 3: Prevent your child from adding more users

You can make sure your child can’t add other users.

  1. On your device, open the Family Link app Family Link.
  2. Select your child.
  3. On the card with your child's device, tap View settings.
  4. Turn off Add/Remove user.
Tip: If you add other profiles, your Family Link settings for your child's account won't apply to those profiles. It's important to use security measures to protect additional profiles. This helps prevent your child from switching users and bypassing parental settings. Make sure to set a screen lock for any new users you’ve created. If you have an adult profile on the tablet, check that you have a pin or password set up with that profile to ensure your child cannot access other profiles.
