Getting started

It is important to our team to enable you to be successful with the GoPro Odyssey, YI HALO and Jump Manager software, therefore we strongly recommend that you follow these guidelines closely.

Below is everything you need to know to work with Jump cameras from getting started through post production workflows. Please make sure to read the following materials list before starting to work with Jump.


  • Jump camera

  • Tripod with 25lbs+ load capacity and a 3/8" mounting screw.

  • MacPro or Macbook Pro (Jump Manager is Mac only)

  • VR-ready PC or MacPro for video editing

  • 1 TB SSD

    • 1 hour of raw footage is approximately ½TB and 1 hour of stitched 8K footage is 340GB

  • Wired internet connection at 100Mbps or faster

    • IMPORTANT: DO NOT use wifi to upload your footage.

  • One of the following devices for previewing footage:

    • Google Pixel or Pixel XL for viewing on Daydream View or Google Cardboard

    • Samsung Galaxy S6/S7/S8 for viewing on Google Cardboard or GearVR

    • Oculus DK2 for viewing on a MacPro

    • Vive or Oculus for viewing on PC
