  1. If the plugins are not being picked up by REAPER:

    2. Make sure the path you put the plugins in is listed in the VST plug-in paths.
    3. Click Clear cache/re-scan.

Template

  1. Download and extract YouTube spatial audio in REAPER.
  2. First time setup for monitoring in REAPER:

    1. In REAPER, go to View > Monitoring FX.
    2. Right-click on the (empty) list on the left, and select FX chains > Load FX chain.
    3. Select YouTube_spatial_audio_monitoring.RfxChain from the extracted folder.
    4. Ensure the ambix_binaural_o1 plugin in the FX chain has the preset folder set to the directory where binaural_presets was extracted to, and the preset is set to symmetric_cube.

  3. Open YouTube_spatial_audio_template.RPP
  4. Have fun!

Export

  1. To export the 4-channel ambisonic audio from REAPER, select File > Render.
  2. For preview in Jump Inspector or upload to YouTube, select the following:

    • Output format: MPEG-4/MOV
    • Format: Quicktime MOV
    • Video codec: h264, 40000 kbps
    • Audio codec: 16-bit PCM
  3. To include a video in your output .mov, simply drag and drop an existing video file into a new track in REAPER.

Note: If the video has existing audio, you probably want to set the track's gain to -inf.
