Write, draw & add notes on a whiteboard

You can add text, shapes, and notes to a whiteboard. You can also add shapes from the Jamboard app and add notes from a web browser.

Write or draw on a whiteboard 

You can write or draw using the stylus and your finger on a Google Meet Series One Desk 27 or Jamboard device. You can draw with your finger in the mobile app or your cursor in a web browser.

  1. Create or open a whiteboard.
  2. On the toolbar, tap Draw .
  3. (Optional) To change pens, tap a marker, highlighter, or brush tool.
  4. (Optional) To change colors, under the pens, tap a color.

Add shapes & drawings to a whiteboard

These features are currently not available in a web browser.

You can add polished text, shapes, and drawings to your whiteboard. For example, when you draw a square, the edges and angles of your drawing are automatically cleaned up. You can also draw images, such as circles, cats, or bicycles.

  1. Create or open a whiteboard.
  2. On the toolbar, tap Draw .
  3. (Mobile app) Tap Assistive drawing tools and then.
  4. Select one of the following tools:
    • To clean up written text, tap Handwriting recognition .
    • To format shapes, tap Shape recognition .
    • To recognize and clean up drawings, tap Autodraw .
      (Feature not available on the mobile app)
  5. Add your drawing or text.

Add notes to a whiteboard

  1. Create or open a whiteboard.
  2. On the toolbar, tap Sticky note .
    On the mobile app, tap Expand  first.
  3. Use the on-screen keyboard to add text to the note.
  4. (Optional) To change the note’s color, tap a color.
