Jamboard Quick Start Guide

Use this Quick Start Guide to learn about Jamboard features. You can also download a printer-friendly PDF version.

Welcome to Jamboard, the collaborative digital whiteboard!

Tip: Download the companion app! The Jamboard app works on Android and iOS® phones and tablets. It allows you to save, store, and access your jams at a later date, and push your Google Drive files to a jam session. Find the apps by searching for “Jamboard” on Google Play and the Apple® App Store.

Present your Jam to a Hangout

Click menu Menu > Present to meeting and enter the Hangout name.

Connect 2 or more Jamboards

From within a jam, click Add people, making sure link sharing is on, and you’ll receive an access code. On the other boards, select Join a meeting and enter the access code.

Add your digital assets (Drive elements/photos)

From your phone or tablet app, click take photo Take photo to access the jam.

Save your Jam

Add yourself as the owner by badge, or click menu Menu > Add owner and share, and enter your email address.

Share/export a copy of your Jam

  • Add others as collaborators by badge, or click Menu Menu  > Share.
  • click Menu Menu  > Send a copy to share as a PDF/PNG file.

Both of these options will trigger an email notification.

Close a Jam

Click Menu Menu  > Close this Jamboard.

No sign-out required. The next person walking up to the board won’t see any previous jams. The owner and collaborators can later access it via the jam list on the web, phone, or tablet app.

Access a Jam

To access a jam, you must be the owner or a collaborator, or in possession of the access code. See Connect 2 or more Jamboards.
To access a previous jam on Jamboard: 

  1. In the mobile app, navigate to the jam to push.
  2. Click Push to board Push to board and then select the nearby board where you want to push it.
     

You can also access a previous jam in the web app, or the phone or tablet app.
