Add content to a jam

You can add content to any live Jamboard session that you’re participating in. However, if you want to add content outside of a live session, the jam owner needs to save the jam and share it with you.

Add Google Drive content to a jam

Jamboards are often in shared or public places. For security reasons, they aren’t attached to a specific person’s G Suite account. Therefore, you can’t access Drive content directly from the Jamboard. To add Drive content to the board, you need to use the Jamboard app.

Common file types that you can push from a phone to a Jamboard include Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides files as well as Image files (PNG, JPEG, GIF) and PDFs.

  1. Open the Jamboard app.
  2. Create a new jam or open an existing jam
  3. Tap Add a Drive file Add a Drive file.
  4. Tap the Drive file that you want to share. If this is a live session, the file appears on the Jamboard.

(Optional) If the file has multiple pages, the person at the board can pull out and expand a single page from the file.

Push a saved jam to the board

If you create a jam using the tablet app or you’re the owner of saved jam, you can reopen it on the Jamboard to continue a discussion.

You can only push a jam to a board using Bluetooth®. Therefore, you need to be near the Jamboard you want to use.

  1. Open the Jamboard app.
  2. From your My Jams list, tap the jam.
  3. Tap Push to board Open on board and select a nearby board.
  4. Ask someone at the board to confirm to accept your jam.
Edit a jam
You can edit jams during a live session, and you can also edit Jams outside of a live session if they've been shared with you. In both cases, the changes you make can be seen instantly by everyone who has access to the jam.

You can edit jams the same way on a Jamboard and with the tablet app. For details, see Use the Jamboard tools.

  2. Enter text into the note.
  3. Tap Return to add your note, and start a new one.
  4. Tap anywhere in the frame when you’ve added all the notes you need.
