Start, open, or save a whiteboard

You can create and save whiteboards in a Google Meet meeting or web browser or on a Google Meet Series One Desk 27 or Jamboard device.

Your changes automatically save to Google Drive. Files you own appear in your My Drive folder.

During a Google Meet video meeting

Important: To start or open a whiteboard, you must join the video meeting from a computer.

  1. Start or Join a meeting.
  2. At the bottom right, click Activities  and then Whiteboarding
  3. Select an option:
    • To create a new Jamboard: Click Start a new whiteboard.
    • To open an existing Jamboard from your drive, shared drives, or computer: Click Choose from Drive

      Tip: The Jamboard file will open in a new tab and a link is shared automatically via the in-call chat.

The whiteboard opens in a new tab. Everyone in the meeting gets a link to the whiteboard in the Meet chat.

Using the Jamboard web app

  1. In a browser window, open jamboard.google.com.
  2. At the bottom, click New .

Using the mobile app

  1. Open the Jamboard app.
  2. Tap Add .

Using a Jamboard 55-inch device

  1. If you see a screensaver, tap the screen to start a new whiteboard.
  2. Tap Menu and thenSave .
  3. Enter your email address.
